Fault text
Intake-air temperature sensor, electric: short circuit to
positive or open circuit

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the upper voltage limit of
the charge-air temperature sensor.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the voltage of the charge-air
temperature sensor > 3.17 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness
- Charge-air temperature sensor defective
- Defective DME
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- Time after end of start phase > 60 sec.
Other conditions:
- None

Condition for fault memory entry
2.5 sec.

Action in service
- Visual inspection of plug
- Check wiring harness
- Replace charge-air temperature sensor
- Replace DME
