SUBJECT
Alarm System Siren Is Not Active when Panic Button Is Pressed

MODEL
F01
F02
F10
F25

Vehicles with option code 302 (Anti-theft Alarm System)

SITUATION
When the panic button is pressed on the remote control key for 3 seconds or more, the alarm siren does not sound. Only the 4-way flashers come on.

CAUSE
Software error in the FZD module (Roof Function Center)

This error only occurs when the vehicle is programmed with ISTA/P2.47.7 or 2.48.1

PROCEDURE

Do not replace parts.

1. Perform diagnosis using the latest ISTA diagnostic software version. Complete all test plans for any stored faults in the DWA (Anti-theft Alarm System). If no faults are stored proceed to the next step.

Note:
When the ISTA system message displays: "Battery voltage only "XX.XX" V. Please connect charger." Please note the displayed battery voltage reading in the repair order comments section.

2. Reprogram the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.48.2 or higher. For example, if the vehicle was programmed with ISTA/P2.48.1, the measures plan will only include the FZD module for new coding. The new I-Levels included in 2.48.2 are as follows:

^ F01, F02: F001-12-11-503

^ F10: F010-12-11-503

^ F25: F025-12-07-509

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet / Aftersales Portal / Service / Workshop Technology / Vehicle Programming.
