Accumulator Replace

1-2 & 3-4 ACCUMULATOR

1. Remove valve body.

2. While supporting 1-2 accumulator housing, remove housing retaining bolts. Then, remove housing and gasket.

3. Support valve body spacer plate, gaskets and accumulator plate to prevent loss of the eight check balls and the 3-4 accumulator spring piston and pin located in the case ensure that the relative positions of piston and spring are noted. The spring may be installed either between the piston and the case or between the valve body/spacer plate and the piston. Furthermore, some models lack a spring entirely, and should not have one installed upon reassembly. Remove remaining retaining bolt on accumulator plate. The intermediate band anchor pin may become dislodged after removing spacer plate and gaskets.

4. Reverse procedure to install.
