4L60/700-R4 VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY











One easy way to spot a misassembly of the valve bushings in the valve body, is to inspect the casting lines on the end of the bushings. This can be seen without removing the valve body from the transmission. If the lines are not vertical (plus or minus 10 degrees) the retaining roll pin is incorrectly installed into an oil slot, rather than a retaining groove.

Note
Some bushings can be installed incorrectly and the casting lines will be vertical.
