1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove left and right sound insulators, Figs. 135 and 136.
3. Remove steering column opening filler, Fig. 137.
4. Remove center cluster trim plate, Fig. 138.
5. Remove screws and then disconnect ALDL connector.
6. Open instrument panel compartment door to gain access to attaching screws, then remove compartment from panel.
7. Remove right side trim plate, Fig. 138.
8. Remove lower center trim plate and radio, disconnecting electrical leads and antenna, Fig. 139.
9. Remove two screws attaching instrument panel to console bracket.
10. Remove two nuts from instrument panel to cowl, Fig. 140.
11. Loosen 1/4 inch screws and unplug connector under instrument panel.
12. Open hood and disconnect bulkhead connector, Fig. 141.
13. Remove two nuts attaching steering column harness to cowl, Fig. 142.
14. Remove three steering column support attaching bolts.
15. Unplug high beam dimmer switch, ignition switch, turn signal, brake light, TCC, cruise and clutch start connectors.
16. Remove defroster grilles, then remove four screws located inside defroster grille opening attaching instrument panel to top of cowl.
17. Remove screw from instrument panel pad brace located by the instrument panel compartment.
18. Remove instrument panel pad, then remove antenna lead from pad.
19. Disconnect body electrical lead located on the right side of instrument panel.
20. Remove side window defroster hoses from heater and or A/C evaporator module.
21. Reverse procedure to install.
