1. On models equipped with airbags, disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models, disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
3. Remove heater outlet attaching screw.
4. Disconnect heater core pipe fittings, then disengage pipe from fitting.
5. Remove righthand instrument insulator panel attaching screws, then pull panel rearward to disconnect.
6. Remove instrument panel lower reinforcement attaching nut and screw.
7. Disconnect lower evaporator case vacuum electrical connectors.
8. Remove righthand pillar trim finish panel, then roll carpet back to gain access.
9. Remove seven lower evaporator case attaching screws, then remove lower evaporator case.
10. Remove heater core attaching straps and screws, then pull heater core rearward working heater tubes out of seal, Fig. 30.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
12. Rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
