Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Hold drive belt from turning by compressing the belt, and loosen the pulley bolts. Loosen the mounting bolts, and remove belt and pulley.
2. Remove hoses, electrical, and vacuum connections from the pump, then the mounting bolts and pump.
3. If necessary, remove the A.I.R. control valve.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the pump and tighten the mounting bolts. Install hoses, electrical, and vacuum connections. See MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS for mounting torque specifications.
2. Place the new fan filter on hub if necessary, then spacer and pump pulley. Tighten pulley bolts equally to press the filter on to the pump. Do not hammer on filter. If new filter is installed, it may squeal until seated on pump.
3. Install and adjust belt. Check for proper system operation.
