EGR Control Solenoid: Service and Repair

EGR Control Solenoid:

REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

Air Cleaner Assembly:

2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at solenoid.
4. Disconnect vacuum hoses.
5. Remove spark plug wires 2, 4, 6 and 8 from distributor cap.
6. Remove attaching screw and solenoid.


INSTALLATION:
1. Attach and tighten solenoid screw.
Torque Value: 13 lb. ft. (18 N-m)
2. Connect spark plug wires, vacuum hoses and electrical connector.
3. Install air cleaner assembly.
4. Connect negative battery terminal.
