Service Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support vehicle. Refer to General Information (Sec. 0A) of 1992 Roadmaster Service Manual.





2. Grasp adjusting tube/sleeve of adjustable tie rod assembly with one hand and attempt to rotate tube/sleeve clamps with opposite hand (see Figure).

3. Repeat step 2 on adjustable tie rod assembly on opposite side of vehicle.

4. If a tie rod adjusting tube/sleeve clamp(s) is found to be loose, proceed to step 5. If no looseness is found, no further action is required, proceed to step 6.

5. Replace inner and outer tie rod assemblies and required connecting and attaching components following 1992 Roadmaster Service Manual procedures in Steering Linkage Section (Sec. 3B3). Perform procedure on both sides of vehicle including toe-in adjustment. Contact your Buick Zone/Branch contact personnel for tire(s) replacement authorization if you detect loose tie rod clamp(s) and feel that tire wear has resulted.

6. Install Campaign Identification Label.
