Manual Downshifts

1. With vehicle speed of 40-55 mph, release 'accelerator pedal while moving gear selector to third gear. The TCC should release, transaxle should downshift to third gear immediately and the engine should slow vehicle down.

2. Move gear selector to overdrive, then accelerate to 40 - 45 mph. Release accelerator pedal while moving gear selector to second gear. The TCC should release, transaxle should downshift to second gear immediately and the engine should slow vehicle down.

3. Move gear selector to overdrive, then accelerate to 25 mph. Release accelerator pedal while moving gear selector to first gear. The TCC should release, transaxle should downshift to first gear immediately and the engine should slow vehicle down.
