Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Fuel Feed And Return Pipes:

NOTE: Before replacing a fuel filter it is necessary to relieve fuel system pressure.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury when the fuel line is disconnected, cover the fuel line with a shop cloth to collect the fuel, and then place the cloth in an approved container.

Disconnect or Remove:
1. Raise car on hoist
2. Remove fuel filter bracket attaching bolt
3. Disconnect the quick connect fittings
4. Remove the filter from the car.

Install or Connect:
1. Install the new filter
2. Tighten fuel filter bracket
Torque Value: 10 N-m (89 lb.in.)
3. Connect quick connect fittings to fuel filter
4. Lower vehicle
5. START the engine and inspect for leaks.
