Troubleshooting Hints - Power Windows

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. If all Power Windows are inoperative, check Circuit Breaker 2. If open. check for a short to ground in CKT 341.
2. If windows move slowly, check that
- Windows free of mechanical binding and pivot joints are greased.
- Battery is fully charged.
- Ground G200 is clean and tight.
3. If switches do not illuminate when Park Lamps are turned "ON," refer to Interior Lights. Testing and Inspection
4. If the Express Down Feature does not work, but window moves down with each switch depression, replace the Master Side Window Switch (Chevy) or Power Window Control Module (Buick).
5. If the Side Window Lockout Switch does not disable the windows. check CKT 1307 for a short to Battery Pos. If OK, replace the Side Window Lockout Switch.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
