SYSTEM COMPONENTSDoor Latch Assembly
The theft deterrent system acts on the inputs of the front door latch assembly to activate the alarm. When a door is opened and the system is armed, the switch inside the assembly closes. This grounds the door open input to the RAC module and trips the alarm.
Door Lock Cylinder Switch
The front door lock cylinders are equipped with switches to disarm the theft deterrent system. When the lock cylinder is turned to unlock the door, the switch grounds the disarm input to the RAC Module. The switch is serviced separately from the lock cylinder.
Luggage Compartment Lid Tamper Switch
The luggage compartment lid tamper switch is connected to the deck lid key cylinder. Cylinder rotation or the in-and-out movement caused by forced entry causes the switch to close. This grounds the tamper switch input to the RAC module and trips the alarm when the system is armed.
Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module
The remote accessory control module controls the theft deterrent system. It acts upon all component inputs to arm, disarm, activate and deactivate the alarm system.
