Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. Check fuses in RH I/P Power Distribution Center:
^ Fuse #1 and #2 (Oldsmobile).
^ Fuse #1 (Buick).
2. Visually inspect fuel door release solenoid connector and associated wiring.
3. (Oldsmobile) Check that the gear selector lever is in PARK position.
4. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and related harness connectors.
5. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
6. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. (Refer To General Troubleshooting Procedures) Diagnostic Aids
