Ignition Timing: Specifications

BASE TIMING
The distributor ignition system has no provision for timing adjustment. The base timing is preset when the engine is manufactured and no adjustment is possible.

TIMING ADVANCE AND RETARD
Timing advance and retard are accomplished through the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with ignition control and knock sensor systems.

BYPASS MODE
There is no "bypass" mode built into the Ignition Control (IC) module as in other ignition systems.
