Rear Hub and Bearing

REAR HUB/BEARING





REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Wheel and tire.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on brake drum as damage to the bearing could result.

3. Brake drum.
4. ABS sensor wire connector.

NOTE: The bolts which attach the hub and bearing also support the brake assembly. When removing these bolts, support the brake assembly with a wire or other means. Do not let the brake line or ABS electrical wire support the brake assembly.

5. Four bolts and hub and bearing from axle.
^ Clean knuckle face and bore before installing hub and bearing.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Hub and bearing to rear knuckle with four bolts. Be careful not to drop hub and bearing, as it could be damaged. Reconnect ABS sensor.
^ Tighten hub and bearing bolts to 70 Nm (52 lb ft).
2. Brake drum.
3. Wheel and tire.
^ Tighten wheel nuts to 140 Nm (100 lb ft).
4. Lower vehicle.
