Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCS)

DTC List:

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are read by using a scan tool.
1. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. The first menu on the scan tool will be the MAIN MENU.
3. Input vehicle information as requested by the scan tool.
4. Select the BODY CONTROL MODULE in the APPLICATIONS MENU. This will take the scan tool to the BODY CONTROL MODULE MAIN MENU.
5. Select the DTC feature. This will take the scan tool to the DTC MAIN MENU.
6. Select the DTC INFORMATION feature.
7. Now the scan tool will be at the DTC INFORMATION MAIN MENU. Select either option of CURRENT or HISTORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE(S).
At this point the scan tool will display all of the BCM DTCs present in the system.
