Rear Compartment

RKE Transmitter:

When the rear compartment button is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter and the remote control door lock receiver receives a signal with a valid code, the remote control door lock receiver will supply a ground to circuit 253. This ground is then applied to the rear compartment lid release relay The rear compartment lid release relay sends voltage through circuit 56 to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator solenoid. The rear compartment lid lock release actuator solenoid is energized and the rear compartment can be opened. If the ignition switch is on and the transaxle range switch is not in PARK, a ground is not supplied from the remote control door lock receiver to circuit 253. When the rear compartment button is pressed, the rear compartment lid will not open.
