The operation of the A/C system is controlled by knobs on the control head. The compressor clutch and blower are connected electrically to the control head by a wiring harness. Airflow is provided by the five blower speeds available. Cooled and dehumidified air is available in all modes. A/C compressor operation is forced in "Max" and "Defrost" modes and is available in remaining modes by turning the A/C knob to light indicator above the knob. Low ambient temperatures below 8°C(43°F) will not permit operation of A/C compressor.

The temperature knob controls the temperature valve through a potentiometer in the controls and electric motor attached to the heater module. The knob on the left controls blower motor speed. Turning the knob to the right increases motor speed. The blower is turned off in the "OFF" mode of operation.

Temperature valve position is independent of mode selection.
