Compressor and/or Mounting Brackets

Compressor Mounting:

Tool Required:
J 39500 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System

Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
2. Accessory drive belt.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Splash shield.
5. Electrical connector from compressor.
6. Electrical connector from A/C pressure switch.
7. A/C compressor hose from compressor.
8. Front compressor mounting nuts.
9. Bolt from rear of compressor.
10. Compressor.

Install or Connect

1. Compressor.
2. Mounting nuts and bolt.

Tighten
^ Compressor mounting nuts 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).

3. Bolt to rear of compressor.

Tighten
^ Compressor mounting bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb. ft.).

4. A/C compressor hose to compressor.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb. ft.).

5. Electrical connections to compressor.
6. Electrical connection to A/C pressure switch.
7. Splash shield.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Accessory drive belt.
10. Evacuate. charge and leak test A/C system.
