Ignition Switch

The mechanical key and lock cylinder is located in the Steering Column assembly on the right-hand side, just below the steering wheel. The Ignition Switch is located below the left-hand side of (he Steering Column. The electrical switching portion of the assembly is separate from the key and lock cylinder. However, both are synchronized and work in conjunction through the action of the actuator rod assembly. The Ignition Switch pulls CKT 1350 low (to ground, 0 Volts) while the Ignition Switch is in START. This is called the Cranklow Signal. The Cranklow input signal allows the Instrument Cluster to start a timing window during which the PASSLOCK TM Lock Cylinder must transmit the correct R-Code.
