- J23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor
- Or Equivalent
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Do all steps, refer to SIR COIL ASSEMBLY.
2. Do all steps, refer to UPPER STEERING COLUMN HOUSING COMPONENTS.
3. Three adapter screws (10) securing steering column housing assembly (11) to support mounting adapter(49).
4. Steering column housing assembly (11).
^ Vehicle wire harness from ignition switch assembly (19).
DISASSEMBLE
1. Three adapter screws (10) securing mounting plate (17) to steering column housing assembly (11).
2. Mounting plate (17) and bearing retainer (18).
ASSEMBLE
1. Bearing retainer (18) and mounting plate (17).
2. Three adapter screws (10) securing mounting plate (17) to steering column housing assembly (11).
^ Tighten screws (10) to 5.7 Nm (50 lb in).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and system.
1. Steering column housing assembly (11) to support mounting adapter (49).
2. Three adapter screws (10).
^ Tighten screws (10) to 5.7 Nm (50 lb in).
3. Vehicle wire harness to ignition switch (19).
4. Do steps 1 through 5, refer to UPPER STEERING COLUMN HOUSING COMPONENTS.
5. Do all steps, refer to SIR COIL ASSEMBLY.
