Steering Gear: Adjustments

PROCEDURE
1. Make adjustment with front wheels raised and steering wheel centered. Be sure to check return ability of the steering wheel to center after adjustment.
2. Loosen adjuster plug lock nut (13) and turn adjuster plug clockwise until it bottoms in housing then back off 35°to 45°.
^ Tighten the adjuster plug lock nut (13) to 70 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) while holding adjuster plug stationary.
