(The response curves shown in the figure above refer to the Oldsmobile radios. The curves for the Buick model radios are similar.)

The TONE button, where applicable, is a sequencing (push-push) type of switch that switches between predetermined frequency response curves and a manual mode (BASS/TREB control functions). The sequence will be as follows in a continuous loop configuration:
1. MANUAL
2. C&W
3. TALK
4. JAZZ
5. ROCK
6. POP
7. CLASSICAL

When you select a specific ATC mode with the TONE button, the ATC mode becomes the default. This ATC setting is stored along with the receiver preset frequencies and is recalled whenever you select the preset.

The radio displays the graphical frequency response curves.
