Muffler: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Support the intermediate pipe/resonator assembly.





3. Cut the intermediate pipe/resonator.





4. Remove the muffler hangers.
5. Remove the muffler.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the muffler.
2. Install the muffler hangers.
3. Install the intermediate pipe/resonator assembly to the muffler.
4. Align the muffler and the intermediate pipe/resonator to the proper clearance.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the U-bolt type clamp.
- Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
