TOOLS REQUIRED^ J 39500 A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling, and Recharging (ACR4) System
^ J 38042 Dual O-Ring Joint Separator
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the bolts (1) from the upper radiator panel.
5. Remove the upper radiator panel.
6. Remove the inlet line from the condenser (5).
7. Remove the outlet line from the condenser (5).
8. Remove the nuts (1) and the bolts (3) from the mounting brackets (2).
9. Remove the upper insulators (4).
10. Remove the condenser (5) by tilting the radiator toward the engine.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the condenser (5) into position by tilting the radiator toward the engine.
2. Install the upper insulators (4).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the nuts (1) and the bolts (3) to the mounting brackets (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
4. Install the outline line to the condenser (5).
5. Install the inlet line to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the condenser connections to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
6. Install the upper radiator panel.
7. Install the upper radiator panel bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
8. Install the air cleaner assembly.
9. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
10. Leak test the system. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
