Fuel Tank Draining

CAUTION: Do not drain the fuel into an open container. Never store the fuel in an open container due to the possibility of a fire or an explosion.

NOTE: Drain the fuel from the complete system, including injector nozzle(s), the fuel pump, all fuel pipes, and the fuel tank if a vehicle is to be stored for any appreciable length of time. Draining the fuel will prevent the formations of fuel system deposits.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Loosen the fuel tank filter pipe cap.




3. Use a hand operated fuel pump device in order to drain the fuel through the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank (1).




4. Tighten the fuel tank filler pipe cap.
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
