Knee Diverter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the right insulator panel.
3. Remove the IP cluster trim panel.
4. Remove the passenger side inflator module.
5. Remove the IP lower trim pad fasteners.
6. Partially remove the IP lower trim pad.
7. Disconnect the ashtray electrical connector.
8. Disconnect the IP storage compartment light switch electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the wiring harness retaining fastener.
10. Remove the IP lower trim pad (4).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Partially install the IP lower trim pad (4).
2. Connect the wiring harness retaining fastener.
3. Connect the IP storage compartment light switch electrical connector.
4. Connect the ashtray electrical connector.
5. Align the IP lower trim pad.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

6. Install the fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

7. Install the passenger inflator module.
8. Install the IP cluster trim panel.
9. Install the right insulator panel.
10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
