Park Brake Cable Replacement (Left/Right Rear)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Loosen the brake cable at the equalizer (2).





3. Remove the cable from the mounting bracket.
4. Remove the cable from the actuator lever.





5. Remove cable from the support bracket using the J 37043.
6. Remove the parking brake cable from the vehicle.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Place the cable in position.
2. Install the cable on the support bracket using the J 37043.
3. Install the cable on the actuator lever.





4. Install the cable on the mounting bracket.





5. Tighten the nut on the equalizer (2) in order to remove the slack in the cable.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Adjust the parking brake.
