Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Systems Operation

The left and the right power seat systems each consist of the following components:
^ A seat switch
^ A front vertical motor
^ A rear vertical motor
^ A horizontal motor
^ A recline motor

All of the motors operate independently of each other. The motors are controlled by the seat switch located on the outboard side of each seat for Buick and in the door trim panel for Oldsmobile. Both vertical motors run simultaneously in order to move the entire seat up and down. The horizontal motor moves the seat forward and back. The recline motor moves the angle of the seat back.
