Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General information.
2. Mark the hoses for installation on the canister.
3. Remove the [1][2]EVAP vent hose (1).
4. Remove the tank vapor hose (2).
5. Remove the purge hose (3).




6. Remove the nuts (2) from the canister.
7. Remove the canister (1) from the bracket by releasing tabs.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EVAP canister on the bracket.
2. Install the EVAP canister assembly into the vehicle.
3. Assemble the EVAP canister to the underbody with the 3 nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the EVAP Canister nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




4. Install the purge hose (3) to the canister.
5. Install the tank vapor hose (2) canister.
6. Install the vent hose (1) to the canister
7. Lower the vehicle.
