Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel sound insulator.
2. Remove the accelerator control cable (1) from accelerator pedal (2).
3. Remove the accelerator pedal retainer (3).
4. Remove the accelerator pedal (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the accelerator pedal (2).
2. Install the accelerator pedal retainer (3).
3. Install the accelerator control cable (1) to accelerator pedal.
4. Install the left instrument panel sound insulator.

IMPORTANT: Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.

The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.
