Power Steering Pump: Description and Operation

Buick uses a CB-series power steering pump. The pump is a vane-type positive displacement pump with an integral fluid reservoir. A pressure relief valve limits maximum system pressure. The relief valve is located inside the flow control valve in the pump housing. Do not service the relief valve separately. The engine drive belt drives the power steering pump.
