Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fasteners (1) at the rear edge of the insulators in order to disengage from the lower instrument panel.
2. Push in on the snap tab retainers in order to release.




3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
4. Turn the heater temperature sensor (3) 1/4 turn in order to release. Leave the sensor connected to its wire.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect electrical connector (1).
2. Install the heater temperature sensor (3) (CJ2 vehicles only).




3. Set the forward edge of the insulator onto the shelf of the dash mat.
4. Align the insulator to the floor duct at the HVAC module.
5. Align the snap tab fasteners to the lower instrument panel and push upward in order to engage.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
