Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution In Caution and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
3. Remove the steering wheel bezel fasteners (1).
4. Remove the steering wheel bezel (2).
5. Insert a small, blunt ended tool into the access hole in the back of the steering wheel in order to push the switch out of the steering wheel.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the electrical connector.
2. Align the switch to the switch opening in the steering wheel.
3. Snap the switch into the steering wheel.
4. Install the steering wheel bezel (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the steering wheel bezel fasteners (1).
Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 3 N.m (26 lb in).
6. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
