Coolant Temperature

The PCM monitors the coolant temperature sensor and sends class 2 messages to the IPC indicating the coolant temperature. The coolant temperature parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
^ COOLANT TEMP
NORMAL ### °F
^ COOLANT TEMP
NORMAL ### °C

The ### represent the coolant temperature value as determined by the PCM. The units of the display correspond to the current IPC setting (english/metric). The IPC displays HOT instead of NORMAL when the IPC determines that a hot coolant temperature condition exists. The coolant temperature cannot be reset by the driver.
