Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Drum Brakes)

WHEEL BEARING/HUB REPLACEMENT (DRUM BRAKES)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

IMPORTANT: The wheel bearing in the rear wheel hub is integrated into one unit. The hub is non-serviceable. If the hub and/or bearing is damaged, replace the complete hub and bearing assembly.

2. Remove the brake drum.




3. Disconnect the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor, if equipped.




4. Remove the bearing/hub mounting bolts.
5. Remove the bearing/hub from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the bearing/hub to the vehicle.
2. Install the bearing/hub mounting bolts

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 75 N.m (55 lb ft).




3. Connect the ABS electrical connector to the wheel speed sensor, if equipped.
4. Install the brake drum.
5. Lower the vehicle.
