BATTERY REPLACEMENT (TOP POST)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the negative battery post.




2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the positive battery post.




3. Remove the battery retainer nut and battery retainer.




4. Remove the battery.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the battery into the vehicle.




2. Install the battery retainer and nut.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the battery retainer nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).




3. Install the nut securing the positive battery cable to the positive battery post.

Tighten
Tighten the battery cable nut to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

4. Connect the battery negative cable to the negative battery post.
