Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair



MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the PCV valve tube (4) from the air cleaner intake duct.




2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector (3).
3. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector (5).
4. Remove the air cleaner intake duct from the air cleaner housing (8) and the throttle body.
5. Remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner intake duct.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the MAF sensor to the air cleaner intake duct.
2. Install the air cleaner intake duct to the air cleaner housing (8) and the throttle body.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the clamps (2, 6) to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (5).
4. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector (3).
5. Start and idle the engine.
6. Inspect the air cleaner intake duct for leaks.
