Headlamp Switch: Description and Operation
HEADLAMP SWITCH
When the headlamp switch is placed in the DOME position, the instrument panel module (IPM) receives a ground signal from the headlamp switch. The instrument panel module (IPM) then applies a signal message through the class 2 communication to the RIM. The RIM then applies a ground to the inadvertent power relay control circuit. This energizes the INT LAMP relay allowing battery positive voltage to be applied to all courtesy lamps. The RIM then applies a ground to the interior lamps ground control circuit to all the courtesy lamps, illuminating them.
