Rear Side Door Inner Panel Lower Energy Absorber Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Open the door.
2. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove both push pins from the energy absorber pad (2).
5. Grasp the energy absorber pad (1) with both hands and pull rearward to release it from the door. If necessary, warm the inner door panel to soften the adhesive.
6. Remove the inner energy absorber pad from the door.

Installation Procedure




1. Clean the rear inner door panel using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water by volume on a dampened lint free cloth before reinstalling the energy absorber pad.
2. Remove the double backed protective tape backing from the door inner energy absorber pad.
3. Install the energy absorber pad (1) to the door.
4. Install both push pins to the energy absorber pad (2).
5. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the rear door trim pad. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Close the door.
