Vacuum Delay Valve: Description and Operation

Under Normal Operating Conditions
Delays the vacuum signal to the air bypass or air control valve, thereby preventing air from being diverted.

During Extended Heavy Engine Loads
Permits vacuum to flow to the air bypass or air control valve, which then diverts air to the atmosphere to prevent exhaust system overheating.
