Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove attaching screws from back of spokes and lift pad assembly from wheel.
3. Remove horn contact wire from plastic tower.
4. On tilt and telescope models, remove three screws securing lever assembly to adjuster, then adjuster from steering shaft.
5. On standard models, remove locking lever assembly.
6. On all models, scribe an alignment mark on wheel hub in line with slash mark on steering shaft to be used upon installation.
7. Loosen steering shaft nut, then using a suitable puller, remove nut and wheel.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
