Refer to Fig. 66, when performing this procedure.
1. Disable airbag system. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove right and left side sound insulators, Fig. 67.
4. Remove upper trim pad as shown in Fig. 66.
5. Remove lower steering column filler.
6. Remove fuse No. 3 from fuse panel.
- Disconnect position assurance (CPA) and yellow two-way Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) harness connector at base of steering column.
7. Remove steering column to support bracket attaching bolts, then lower steering column.
8. Remove lower instrument panel trim pad support.
9. Remove lower instrument panel brace retaining nut from accelerator pedal stud.
10. Disconnect electrical connectors between instrument panel and dash, then remove glove box switches, Fig. 68.
11. Remove instrument panel to dash attaching screws, Fig. 69.
12. Remove trim pad assembly.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
14. Reactivate airbag system. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts. Air Bag Systems
