Dual Sensor


1. Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2. Remove DERM as described under DIAGNOSTIC ENERGY RESERVE MODULE.
3. Remove nut retaining sensor connector.
4. Remove CPA and disconnect sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove nut retaining resistor module and two nuts retaining body computer module.
6. Remove DERM and body control module bracket.
7. Remove sensor mounting bolts and screws.
8. Remove sensor by rotating rear of sensor to disengage from mounting clip and pulling rearward.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install sensor with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle.
b. Ensure front flange of sensor is engaged into spring clip on bracket.
c. Torque mounting bolts to 84 inch lbs.
d. Torque body computer module and resistor mounting nuts to 84 inch lbs.
e. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
f. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
