Air Conditioning Programmer (ACM)

Vacuum Controls:

The Programmer accepts signals from the Body Control Module (BCM) and provides output vacuum and electrical control signals. An external, bidirectional DC motor, controlled by the programmer adjusts temperature valve position. A potentiometer feedback signal is used by the BCM to determine the temperature valve position.

Four solenoids in the programmer, control vacuum to actuators which control the outside (O/S) air recirculation valve, A/C defrost valve, and heater-AC bi-level valve.

When diagnosing vacuum actuator system problems, the programmer must be in the as-installed position for it to operate properly. Rotating or tipping the programmer may prevent the internal solenoid valves from shifting.
