Input Test EI83 - Cruise Control Set/Coast Switch

DISPLAY CONFIGURATION:

After the diagnostic trouble codes have been displayed, the Driver Information Center (DIC) will display "ECM?". Depress the HI blower button. The display will change to read "ECM DATA?". Depress the LO blower button. The display will change to read "ECM INPUTS?". Depress the HI blower button. The display will change to read EI70. Place the cruise control ON/OFF switch in the ON position. Depress the LO blower button five times. The display will change to read LO '0' EI83. When the cruise control SET/COAST switch is depressed the display will change to read HI 'X'. The change from '0' to 'X' indicates that the test has been successfully completed.

TEST DESCRIPTION:

This test detects the close of the SET/COAST switch in the turn signal lever at terminal D3 of the PCM.

NOTE: The cruise switch must be on to perform this test. Switch test EI82 should be performed before this test to ensure power to the SET/COAST switch.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. "LO" indicates the Set/Coast switch is open. "HI" indicates that the switch is closed.
