SUBJECT: INTERIOR WINDOW FOGGING


MODELS AFFECTED: 1992 ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES (PRIOR TO VIN BREAKPOINTS NU609101 AND NU812027)


Some 1992 Eldorados (built before VIN breakpoint NU609101) and Sevilles (built before VIN breakpoint NU812027) may experience interior window fogging on initial start or several seconds thereafter in certain high humidity conditions with mild ambient temperatures (40-50~ F).

This condition may be due to the higher ambient temperature requirement (50~ F) to engage the A/C compressor. Beginning with these VIN breakpoints, a revised programmer was released to allow the compressor to engage at a temperature greater than 41~ F. This programmer will help prevent this condition by dehumidifying air entering the vehicle.

To repair this condition replace the programmer with P/N 16176559. Refer to Section 1B-36 of the 1992 Eldorado/Seville Service Information Manual for the R&R procedure.
