Symptom Chart A Wiring Schematic:

TEST DESCRIPTION
Test numbers refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Checks if condition is due to a poor connection at the EBTCM/EBCM. Make sure the connector is not "cocked" on module.

2. Verifies that fuse "A1" is intact.

3. Checks EBTCM/EBCM ground resistances. Should be less than 5 ohms.

4. Checks EBTCM/EBCM ignition voltage.

5. This step checks for possible open or high resistance in circuit 141 if there is insufficient voltage measured in Step 4. It is assumed a short to ground on circuit 141 would have blown fuse "Al".

6. Checks for possible insufficient voltage on power side of fuse "Al". This may be due to Maxi fuse 6 being damaged or an intermittent connection in the ignition switch.

7. Checks for EBTCM,EBCM terminal "1" having a poor solder joint or for being partially backed out.

8. Checks if a loss of serial data communication between EBTCM,EBCM and BCM is due to a damaged circuit 799.

9. If there is no voltage measured in Step 8, there is a possible short to ground on circuit 799. If not, regulated 5V supply from EBTCM,EBCM is lost and EBTCM/EBCM should be replaced.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
BCM Diagnostic Trouble Code B332 and PCM Code P137 should be present.
