Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Operation

The PCM maintains a value for transaxle oil life which indicates the percentage of oil life remaining and is calculated based on transaxle temperature and speed. When the vehicle is new, the transaxle oil life is 100% as mileage accumulates, oil life will eventually decrease to 0%. When the value reaches 1%, the CCDIC displays the message CHANGE TRANSAXLE OIL.

The oil life indicator should be reset to 100% when transaxle oil is changed or when the transaxle is replaced. Transaxle oil life value should be recorded prior to PCM replacement and programmed into the new PCM. Use the following procedure to reset the transaxle oil life indicator.
